While I am not an advocate for building/living to the Tiny House extreme ... (I believe that it is a waste of quality building materials to confine to such a small scale) ... I am ecstatic about the Tiny House Jamboree coming to Colorado Spring in August 2015.
I am excited to attend the event, which removes the distinction between presenter and attendee by allowing everyone to bring their own Tiny Homes to display! That gives me 4-months to build something suitable for transport on a trailer!
What excites me most about the Tiny House movement is similar to my interest in USGBC's LEED Credential ... both are drivers of an education process toward conscious living and sustainable building, respectively.
There are so many nuances, tricks, tips, lessons learned, etc from DIY community of Tiny Home Builders and operators. They all share a vision of living tiny (substitute: simple, low-impact, sustainable, convenient, happy, conscious) and acted on this vision with a pioneering spirit. For that, I commend each and every one of you who pursues your vision. Without that the community/culture/technology/products would be stagnant, and our future as builders & dreamers would be in jeopardy.
Here is a list of people and businesses that I am eager to learn more about in the months leading up to the Jamboree. Hope to see you there!
